Vision conference

Vision conference went down well - Got good numbers in the end after booking was very slow. Tim Burnage and I hosted it - and James Hamilton encouraged everyone at the start and end of the day. I did a couple of workshops too which seem to be received quite well.

There is a blog site just for Vision if you want to check it out. A place to share ideas and stay connected with people throughout the year.

RUup4it?

Spoke at York's RUup4it event last night. It was in Manor School where we hold the Vision conferences in October. James Simister (my St Mike's replacement) was hosting, and they had a St Mike's youth band playing. Sounded great.

I spoke about "Love is..." and tried to get people to think about how they can love God in different ways, and really love others in a way that costs something. Not sure how I do this myself...

North Wales

Well - I was surprised too! Sunny weather in North Wales! We got to ride two trains, went to LlanfairPG..., played on some beaches... really nice. I went to North Wales when I was a kid, so it was fun seeing some places I only had half a memory of.

GREENBELT

Well - I had a fun day yesterday! Being at Greenbelt this weekend with trax16 has meant I have been out on the prowl to catch anyone worth interviewing for the podcast. Of course, the main act appeared last night on main stage - Daniel Bedingfield. I was convinced I had failed in my attempts to get an interview with him when I found out that there were many press people here, and none of them had been told they could get an interview - so I figured that me, my little digital recorder and trax16 t-shirt wasn't about to go to the top of a list to get a soundbite from the man. I started to think of ways I could get backstage - but thought I might get arrested if I tried something dumb.

I finally got a call from the media guy at Greenbelt s
aying I could come to a last minuite press conference that Daniel wanted to do - yay!

I met an old friend who works in radio who helped me know what to do (having never done the whole press conference thing before) and managed to record the press conference and even get a cheeky sound bite from him afterwards... I even got him to say our magic phrase... I'm Daniel Bedingfield, and you're listening to trax16!"

(You can just see our little MicroTrack recorder on the stool in front of him!)

So - I was pretty pleased with myself last night - and then went across to main stage later that night to hear him sing loads of his new material and promote Stop the traffik which he did at the press conference too.

To hear the interview I got - you'll have to wait till the end of September when trax16 comes out again.

Out in a few days is the podcast from Soul Survivor - a massive 42 minutes of trax16-ness.

We got Mike Pilavachi, Andy Hawthorne and Tim Hughes on the podcast, alongside loads of young people at the event. Hopefully, it will realy help promote the podcast and get more people listening.

June's podcast got 350 downloads which we're really happy about - and we hope with Soul Survivor and Greenbelt under our belt, we should see those figures shoot up. We'll see what happens.

The MySpace and Bebo sites are also attracting a good number of people.

new trax16

It's out now! The July/August edition of trax16.

This doesn't mean we're going to skip a month - we just want the podcast to be named with the month about to happen, rather than the month we've just had! So the next one will be September! Get it?

Here's a nice little mp3 player I found (currently featuring on the trax16 myspace page) - choose a trax16 and listen away!
